Baptism by fire

It occurs to me baptism might correspond to destruction by God. Baptism by water corresponds to Deluge and baptism by fire might correspond to Armageddon.

Just the thought.

  1. This reminds me of my horrorscope:

"Your name will become synonomous with the term "spontaneous combustion"
but after a a few weeks it will become obvious that you'd planned it all along".

  2. There are some imaginary animals like dragon, unicorn, or imp. Griffin is one of them. It must have survived from Deluge since it had wings. It will transform to Phoenix in the coming Armageddon and survive again.

  3. Well - part of the concept of baptism is that "the old person" must die (symbolic drowning) and rise as a new - born again - man or woman.

  4. We don't know what exactly baptism by fire meant, which was mentioned as the word of John the Baptist. Some say it's a renewal of faith and others say that it's a destruction by wrath of God in Armageddon.

    Anyway, it's an interesting expression.

  5. Definitely interesting. I've no idea what it means unless "fire" refers to the Holy Spirit - but I'm guessing.
