Life line, fate line..I found strange words in the lyrics of 'Last smile'. I got curious about so-called 'hand phase'. This is mainly used to predict someone's future.
Talking to a hand phase, I recall my cousin.
He didn't come to my wedding ceremony more than ten years ago. I got married to some woman at age 34. At that occasion, I heard from other relatives that he was already dead. He was two years junior to me, so he must have died in his twenties or early thirties.
As my bio suggests I had been always leaving best results in my schools. My evaluation was always 5 or most excellent from 5 stage evaluations in almost all subjects except for a physical education. On the other hand my cousin was always 1 or 2. He was a poor performance pupil.
I'm not sure when but one day I had a chance to see his hand phase in a playful manner. His was something like an explosion of bomb. His didn't show any particular lines.
Those hand "readings" can be quite amazing. In 1996, while I still lived in Denmark and hadn't met my now family, I was told that I had a line that showed that I was going to move very far away from my place of birth. He couldn't say when except "in absolute maximum 8 years". I moved to India in '99.

Thanks, ullangoo..I was expecting to receive a reply from you since India must have been a cradle of astrological culture. Yes, hand phase is a mysticism, based on a baseless superstition. I think any sort of fortune-telling is, in a word, superstition, but that includes kinds of truth judged from extremely numerous empirical patterns, so fortune-telling is not always useless. It reflects statistical inclination at least, I think.
ReplyDeleteFortune teller or in this case a hand reader has read tens of thousands of hand phase and must have known the patterns of those who have some particular hand line tend to face some particular future.
It's interesting to see how hand phase shows someone's past as well as future. Hand phase might be a schedule board of life.
As to your radical change in life, I got curious. Just before the advent of your forties, you must have experienced...what?

It's no secret. I was an alcoholic, and I stopped drinking in August 1993. My hand showed that. So does my horoscope - interpreted by a completely different person.
ReplyDeleteYou're right in saying that horoscopes, hand readings, etc. show only an inclination. We have free will.
I often use this example: a horoscope (or whatever) can show that a woman will get pregnant very easily between February and June of a certain year. The astrologer may, from his/her knowledge of the woman's character, say that she will have a child, but in fact the astrologer can't say that for certain. It's an interpretation. The woman may choose to be extra careful with her contraception from February to June, for reasons the astrologer doesn't know. The final choice is hers.
